Merovingian Red Bird Brooch - Bronze Historical Reproduction Pin ocean wave jewelry The Mother's Knot Celtic KnotThis true to detail reproduction is based on an early medieval Bavarian brooch from the Merovingian period. The historical model was found in Aschheim in Southern Germany and dates from around 600 AD. The decoration shows four whirling heads of birds of preylooking to the left with eyes made of red enamel, flanked by four necks decorated with Celtic bands. In the centre of the original disc brooch there was a four pass area with notched decorations.
