Description

Until 1901 the medal's obverse contained an image of a trophy of arms with the Royal Arms in an oval shield in the centre while the reverse side contained the inscription "For Long Service and Good Conduct"

awarded for 30 days service between 1st January 1957 and 30th June 1960

Instituted in 1918

You can also opt to have an invisible staybrite coating added to your medals to prevent tarnishing

The General Service Medal with North Iraq and South Turkey Clasp was awarded for 30 days service or 3 operational sorties between 6th April and 17th July 1991

EFFICIENCY DECORATION Post 1982 Medal Cases Until 1901 the medal's obverseTerritorial Decoration awarded with the green ribbon with central yellow stripe until 1982 when it was combined into a single Decoration emcompassing the AER and T&AVR, the ribbon was then standardised to half blue half green with a central yellow stripe. This can also be awarded with the HAC ribbon to members of the HAC who qualify for the award.
