Lycoris rosea August Red Purple/Lavender Foliage Plants but the best feature hereLycoris 'August Red' is a Japanese surprise lily hybrid from Komoriya Nursery. The 20" tall, bronze stalks arise for us in early August, each topped with 5 6 brilliant red flowers, with a lavender blush to the tip of each petal. In our trials, Lycoris 'August Red' has been a good flowering clone as well as a fast offsetter. After flowering, the foliage emerges for us in mid October, and grows all winter.
