Yard notes & kiln story
Description
Punica 'Carrot Top' makes a 15' tall specimen
purple with dramatic stripes of yellow and red evenly spaced throughout the leaf
I assumed for years that these would not thrive in our heat and humidity after seeing them in full glory in the upper Midwest
The leaf axils are home to small bright yellow flowers in mid-May (NC)
not to be confused with the common Arum italicum 'Pictum'

This Yucca Do introduction is a nocturnally opening hybrid of Zephyranthes drummondii, from the famed 'Labuffarosea' strain. From midsummer through fall (after rains) 6" stalks emerge, atop which unfurl lovely, 2" unique, reddish pink (that's hard to capture with the camera) flowers
