This is a fossil grasshopper, preserved in tar from the Pleistocene ''La Brea Tar Pits'' of California. The distinct grasshopper is very well preserved in a 3 dimensional fashion. The detail is excellent. This is a very cool fossil insect from a classic fossil site.
