Hosta Yesterdays Memories Manchuria region China Thanks to Bob Snyder for
Yard notes & kiln story
Description
Thanks to Bob Snyder for sharing this deer-resistant hardy lantana he grows in his garden two hours west (colder) of PDN
Perhaps this is why the Evil Empire of Plant Taxonomy has now banished it to the genus Ionactis
The pouches are backed with chartreuse sepals that are heavily veined purple
which is hopelessly confused in the trade with Asarum ichangense
while the lower petal and flower base are a vividly contrasting red-orange (RHS 42A)
Hosta Yesterdays Memories Manchuria region China Thanks to Bob Snyder forThis 2006 Hans Hansen introduction is a sport from our 1995 introduction, Hosta 'Squash Casserole'. Exhibiting the same amazing vigor of the parent, Hosta 'Yesterday's Memories' forms a 4' wide clump of chartreuse golden leaves surrounded by a contrasting dark green border. The vigorous clumps are topped in midsummer with 20" spikes of light lavender flowers.
