Large 19th Century French Green Confit Pot red floral painting the subjectThe beauty of rustic faded elegance, this is a gorgeous large 19th century confit pot that is partially glazed and has two handles, one which is intact and one which is partially broken. 'Confit" means "to preserve" in French, and these were traditionally used in French kitchens before refrigeration, particularly to preserve duck and goose. Lovely and rustic and perfect for a big plant. It has a hole at the base. Dimensions 30cm high x 30 cm wide
