Elasmosaurus teeth from the Upper Cretaceous from the Oulad Abdoun Basin are relatively more scarce than the Mosasaurus

in contrast to regularly coiled ammonites

It can be seen how part of its thin outer layer (the enamel) has lost by erosion and has exposed the underlying layer of dentine

A preparation of this piece could make the rest of the teeth show up from under the rock

which lived at the middle of the Cretaceous (between the Albian and Cenomanian stages
