19th-century French Pencil Drawing by Alphonse Baril (#80) Terrestrial "Fritillaria imperialisAlphonse Baril (1816 1888) was a watercolor painter known for his detailed and evocative landscape pieces. In our collection of Baril's works, he captures various perspectives of the French countryside as well as the buildings and cathedrals of larger cities. His works on paper feature ripped edges and the artist's notes, appearing to be torn from his sketchbook. This particular piece comes from his sketchbook dated 1873 1877 containing pencil
